The Minister for Water, Agriculture and the Environment, Adela Martínez-Cachá, met on Friday morning with representatives of the company Agromarketing and the mayor of Ojós, Pablo Melgarejo, to learn first-hand about the presentation of the Extraordinary Congress of Stone Fruit of the Region of Murcia that will take place on the 20th in Shanghai, within the framework of the International Fair IFresh China Fruit.
Councillor Martínez-Cachá explained that the aim of her presentation at iFresh is to open new markets in the Asian country, as this fair is the most important in the fruit and vegetable sector in Mainland China, and will serve as a showcase for products from the Region of Murcia, as Asian distributors and consumers will be able to learn about them just at the time when the Spain-China export protocol for fruit and vegetable products is being finalised.
Throughout the Fair, there will be numerous business meetings, including, and the one that interests us most, the 1st Spain-China agricultural meeting, where the fruit and vegetable sector of the Region will be presented, highlighting the values that make it a leader in Europe, such as the high degree of professionalism, the quality of the products and the advanced technology used.
The Extraordinary Congress of Stone Fruit of the Region of Murcia will be held between 4 and 6 March 2016 and will include technical, agricultural, tourism and gastronomy-related sessions. In addition, activities will be held around the flowering of Cieza.
The Councillor received a book with the best photographs of the flowering of Cieza taken by the photographer Fernando Galindo over 25 years, a publication that has been financed through the Leader Funds.
