A talk and a thematic exhibition about the peach and the techniques used by the Ciezano artist José Victor Villalba (Josevi) in his work, served to begin the cycle of activities that will be organized in this new Center
The artist and professor at the UMU, José Víctor Villalba, gave a talk on Saturday about his innovative technique that allows him to make artistic creations from a paste whose raw material is basically the deciduous leaves of peach trees, and which was exhibited in his doctoral thesis earning him general recognition, being a worldwide pioneer in this technique with which he manages to incorporate elements of nature itself into his work, by transforming it into his raw material.
Painter from a family linked to the countryside and particularly to the cultivation of peaches, he made the livelihood of his predecessors his passion, which he was able to transmit in his initial talk to the attendees who enjoyed his experiences and his secrets to convert simple tree leaves into precious ones. murals that transmit not only the colors, but the smells of the countryside. Works that have a life of their own.
He also had the opportunity to share with the attendees the details of the agricultural-themed painting exhibition that has been on display at the Cieza Peach Interpretation Center since last October 24 and will end on November 23.
José Víctor Villalba thanked the La Floración Cultural Association, the managing entity of the Cieza Peach Interpretation Center (built thanks to funds from the Leader Plan), for thinking of him to be the first to inaugurate the Center's calendar of activities, which has Its objective is to become the reference point for agrotourism in the area and it is the only peach museum in the world.

The Multipurpose Room of the Cieza Peach Interpretation Center also houses a section dedicated to the first photographs that were taken with the theme The Flowering of Cieza, all of them works by Fernando Galindo, in the early 90s, and which marked the beginning of which has become a natural, artistic and tourist phenomenon of the first magnitude 25 years later.
The La Floración Cultural Association has been very satisfied with this first activity, since it has served as a sample of what this great Center can become, which will be officially inaugurated next February, coinciding with the spectacle of the flowering of the local fruit trees, which will create, as in the rest of the fruit trees in Cieza, an idyllic environment in this area.
