Did you know that…? The tradition of growing and eating peaches in Cieza (Murcia) dates back to the period of Roman occupation, as shown by plant remains from the 3rd century AD found in the Cave-Sima of La Serreta. But pits of this fruit were also found in the Islamic site of Siyâsa, dating from the 11th-13th centuries, during the Muslim domination of the Iberian Peninsula.
