Peach thinning is essential for its development, due to the impact it has on the subsequent size of the fruit and the time it takes to reach the optimal point for harvesting.
There is no known system that improves the accuracy of manual thinning. Branch by branch. Tree by tree.
Thinning allows the fruit to develop (to be of high quality) and the tree not to suffer excessively and ensures the continuity of production the following year.
It should be done one month after the peak of flowering (approximately), once nature has made its own selection.
The size and quality of the peach at the time of harvesting largely depends on this activity.
From melocotondecieza.es We want to pay a well-deserved tribute to all the citizens who, day after day, defy the whims of the weather and spend long days on the “perigallo” in order to strip our peach trees and leave them ready to give the best possible fruit.
